TITLE: Serene Suspension
This is a series of real levitation photography with no props or layer masking editing. The idea of levitation has always fascinated me and the process of capturing these images provided a very fun challenge. In this series my subjects find themselves suspended in the air in a state of serene calm. Of the many photo shoots where I asked my subject to jump in the air I choose for this series the images with subjects where their natural expressions and postures seem effortless during their exertion. Capturing this serene expression during suspension is possible by watching for the decisive moment where the body and mind relaxes in the idea that it is actually floating during the split second before it comes back to earth.
AUTHOR: Everett Kohinke (United States)
Being an adventurous young gymnast who loved to explore the city as well as nature I wanted to document my explorations and so my first camera was naturally a GoPro Hero. The playful and energetic process of using the GoPro, which was supposed to just be about capturing stunts on film, ended up igniting my passion for photography. The timing of my new found love was perfect to take full advantage of photography courses in school and from there the world opened up for me. I find I enjoy photography mostly because I draw parallels between myself and all the individuals I come in contact with. Every person I meet and every intimate moment I capture is reflective of my personal growth as an artist. From there my combined love of photography, music, art and people lead me to create the Kudzu Community a platform to promote up and coming artists. My fellow artists are my favorite subjects as I enjoy finding their truth through images that can represent their message to the world. Using my photography to support other people has given me access into the artist communities where ever I am and I know it will take me where I want to go. AKA ewaytheonlyway
