TITLE: Flying Fox
I live in Melbourne and I was lucky enough to be involved in Sydney Light Rail project for 6 months, where the worksite is very close to Centennial Park in Sydney. I shot these photos around the January of 2017 in Centennial Park when Sydney was hit by 36-40 degree heatwave.
I accidentally discovered the flying fox’s camp in an evening walk after working, I did not know the park is the colony /camp of flying fox, but I saw many flying foxes flying around the worksite during sunset.
At first, I thought the flying foxes were hunting fishes on water, i did not see them caught anything, then I google their behaviour and found out they need to dip into water to cool their body temperature down and to drink during hot days. Grey headed Flying fox is an endangered species and predicted to extinct in next 70 years
