TITLE: Cold war Landscapes - Uig
Aired Uig is situated in the far north of the Isle of Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides. It sits on the edge of the wild Atlantic and is battered by storms and fierce weather. The location was chosen during the Cold war to host a military base which was shrouded in secrecy . The MOD moved out long ago but the landscape lives on littered with angular buildings in this remote environment. This series of photos aims to capture the unsettling nature of this landscape and convey a sense of dis -ease that sits within.
