TITLE: Waves of clouds
At dawn of a clear July morning I was on top of Seceda mountain, in the Gardena Dolomites (northeast Italy). After sunrise, a tide of clouds formed over the Funes Valley. In four photos I summarize 36 minutes of the evolution of an amazing "sea of clouds" between the peaks. The clouds appear as increasingly impetuous waves crashing on the rocks and create an evocative atmosphere.
AUTHOR: Alberto Perer (Italy)
I was born in Treviso (Northern Italy) in 1978. I love mountain scenery and I am a naturalist of the Italian Alpine Club and a supporting member of The UNESCO Dolomites Foundation.
I like to capture the emotions nature gives me by embracing its many aspects, such as rocks, plants and water in my work. The scenery presented in front of me, and the feelings it arouses in me, guide the development of my photos: black & white or colour are not just random choices. Composition and correct exposure are determinant in the making of my pictures. I can encapsulate my vision of photography in these words: "The colours of light... when nature paints itself." I very often hike through the Dolomites in Veneto and Trentino, but I also love travelling in the Alps and visiting new lands at the first opportunity.
