TITLE: N-Trees
Between 2017 and 2019, I took pictures along the coast, fields, forests and lakes in Hokkaido, north of Japan. I feel like the trees are reaching out to the sky and receiving something invisible. The trees are a symbol of nature that I revere, and at that time I feel like a destiny community that spent the same time and space there. When I confront a tree, I feel that each other's inner nature is connected. I wanted to remove the colors, invert the gradation, and express a tranquil introspection world where real and mental landscapes are mixed.
