TITLE: Instants and Places
Double exposure, free-hand shooting, few moments away from each other, few meters away from each other.
I started this project about one year ago with three ideas in mind.
The first, perhaps the most ambitious, is to challenge and at the same time exacerbate the concepts of framing and composition in photography. Framing and composition are one of the cornerstones of photography and these images reflect on this concept, distorting it through the use of the double exposure technique.
The second idea concerns the search, in the same frame, for a fleeting instant and for its wider collocation in the surrounding space.
The third and last idea, the simplest one, is to try to represent in a different way the places of modern Milan (Italy) and of the avant-garde architectural design that characterizes it. Melting together people and the urban landscape.
AUTHOR: Daniele Rossi (Italy)
I was born in Milan in 1963.
At the end of my studies my parents gave me a reflex as a gift and for three years I got enthusiastic about photography. I learned everything by myself on books. Then I completely abandoned photography for many many years.
I resumed photography six years ago with the new digital equipments. I followed basic and advanced training courses, workshops and currently I am still improving my knowledge with new courses and experiences. Several images of mine have taken part of collective exhibition and final phases of competitions.
Photography to me is way to intimate expression, before being a tool for representation of reality. A picture, beside representing a subject, is the intimate representation of a state of mind.
I take pictures of landscapes, urban life and landscape, architecture, sport.
I live in south east Milan, I have a son 15 years old and this time I will never stop taking pictures anymore
