TITLE: A Conflicted Path
This image combines elements of landscape, architecture, and street photography. The photograph reminds me of the different paths that we take in life. Every decision we take cannot be changed. Some people are left with regrets and live a conflicted life. If you could go back to your youth would you make different decisions and choose another path?
AUTHOR: Jon Wohl (United States)
I started traveling in 2009 and became one of two thousand members in the world who belonged to the Travelers Century Club for people who have visited over 100 countries. I also became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and started a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Agency providing treatment to people like my brother who have Autism. Despite my career path I have always been an artist at heart. My mom introduced me to oil painting at a young age and I bought my first film camera freshman year of high school. My interest in photography grew after using my compact camera during my extensive travels and I eventually upgraded to a DSLR. I never went to photography school. However, I taught myself how to become a photographer by analyzing photographs taken by the greats, practicing my ass off, and reading dozens of books about photography. Recently, I came to the conclusion that I have a preference for street, documentary, and travel photography after exploring various types of subjects over the years.
The objectives of my work:
1.) Take meaningful photographs that help change social issues.
2.) Demonstrate to society we have more similarities than differences.
3.) Document a historical period.
4.) Help myself understand human nature.
5.) Strive to become a better photographer and person through it.
