This photo was taken in 2018, on a visit to Venice. Rain just paused and I was shooting the reflection of Basilica di San Marco in the pond. Suddenly this seagull landed in front of me. At first, it was ignoring but just when I was planning to stand up and leave, it starred directly into my camera lens. Without hesitation, I pressed the shuttle. I checked the photo, and the next second, it was gone.
When I exported the photo when I got back and looked at it in detail. I felt that there were something it tried to communicate. There is this sense of persistence and sturdy in its eyes that naturally made me relate to its identity -- the guard of this isolated city.
