TITLE: A Man waits at a Mural
A man waits at the train station in Porto, Portugal. I noticed how he was dwarfed by the immense presence of the murals behind him. The randomness and the unexpected is what can make street photography so rewarding. You are unable to plan the scenes of everyday life that you are hoping to capture. You are powerless in the process and everything depends of chance.
AUTHOR: Richard Vandegriend (Canada)
Richard Vandegriend is a self-taught Vancouver based photographer whose passion is landscape and fine-art photography. Believing that composition and timing are critical to a great image, compositional elements are not altered in post-processing. Instead care and patience are exercised to ensure the image was captured perfectly in camera. As landscape photography is so dependent on lighting and weather conditions, more often than not, great images are discovered rather than planned. One must give themselves the time and opportunity to discover these images.
