Sidarta Corral MEXICO
Sidarta Corral, born in Mexico City in 1972, grew up in the Veracruz state capital Xalapa and on a family organic farm in the nearby municipality of Xico. His vocation as a photographer started at young age when he started using a Mamiya 35mm and reading photography books belonging to his Mother. He grew up very close to nature and was surrounded by opportunities to capture images in the mist forest in the mountainous region of Veracruz.
He received an alternative education at active primary schools with a focus on the arts and home-schooling. He later went on to learn the art from acclaimed photographers and professors at the renowned university for Fine Arts, Universidad Veracruzana, such as Teúl Moyrón, Fernando Meza, Héctor Vicario and Sergio Maldonado. He has worked as a graphic designer and photographer for his family business and organic produce for many years, as sports photography for white-water river rafting companies in Veracruz, and as a freelance commercial photographer for tourism, real estate, theatre, portraits and more.
