TITLE: Midday's Ring
This photo was taken around 11:30a.m. (CST) in October 2018. As I walked to my car, I looked up and noticed the ring encircling the sun completely. The photograph was immediately taken. It is rare to see a dulled rainbow reflecting around the entire sun. Typically only pieces of it show. This photograph was a special moment in the sun's time.
AUTHOR: Melissa Robertson (United States)
I have enjoyed taking pictures all my life. In 2018, I captured a snowflake that looked like a flower. The snowflakes inspired me to pursue macro photography. I have spent a lot of time, night and day, capturing the beauty and tiny detailed designs of the smallest flakes that land within my yard, trees, deck, and space around. My desire is to share the beauty of this piece of nature with the world. My photographs have become illustrations in my book new series, Washed as White as Snow, published in 2019. Although, I enjoy and focus on snowflakes the majority of my time, during the off-season and when the moments arise, I still enjoy capturing whatever piques my interest, such as the sky, sun, mountains, lakes, kids, etc. I still enjoy all photography as it allows me to remember the world’s passing moments for years to come.
