TITLE: Remanence of Eden or forbidden fruit
The photograph 'Remanence of Eden or forbidden fruit' represents a human form covered with a veil. The shape at mid-height symbolizes a fruit near the heart. This photograph is a represention of the repressed desires of our humanity as an eternal duality between what the heart desires and what the law forbids.
This photograph was taken in a snow field near St-Lawrence River (Quebec, Canada)
A myth is an image in terms of which we try to make sense of the world said Alan Watts (Philosopher).
AUTHOR: Yvon Jolivet (Canada)
Yvon Jolivet was born in the province of Quebec (Canada). Scientific training, he is used to questioning the meaning of nature. Now, since few years, Yvon Jolivet has devoted to the art of photography.
His approach tends to highlight the natural environment by the symbolism that emerges. He sometimes exploit a proximity approach to photography that breaks up the territory into more complex fragments. This approach allows him to bring new meaning to the shapes and natural rhythm. Break the spaces, the time and to reassemble them one in the other, in the order or the disorder, and finally to create a new meaning.
Recently, some series of photographs showing scenes of human activities have been part of my curriculum to immortalize, through UNESCO and others, certain activities related to our regional culture.
