TITLE: Pāramitā
In the South-eastern Asian Buddhism, the Pāramitā are the ways that lead to the other shore, ways to transcend the physical realm. These pictures were taken in Myanmar and Thailand in moments of suspension and detachment from reality which seemed to convey an intuition of possible epiphany. I felt very dismal at that time, because I felt it very difficult to grab the nature of the places I was visiting: they seemed elusive and requiring a different approach from that of the casual traveller. Then one day I stopped trying to frame into categories what couldn’t be framed and I simply began to watch around me from the boat I was on, and in that moment I started to sense that not everything is clear and distinct: some things you have to accept as distant and blurred.
