TITLE: Chasing Shadows
‘Chasing Shadows’ is a series of work inspired by shadows and captured using black and white Polaroid photography. The subject informs the practice and these instantaneous artworks reflect the temporary, ephemeral and intangible qualities of shadows. Graphic shapes, linear forms, monochromatic illusions and silhouettes, these images balance the contrast of black and white with the simplicity of hard and soft captured in a Polaroid 600 black frame.
This work was developed during my time as Artist in Residence with the Print Association of Western Australia, Perth 2014.
