Since I was a kid I have had a passion for art, and I often dabbled in photography and filmmaking.
I travelled around the world with my family and, by default, I became the photographer, utilising my 35mm Olympus OM-40. Shooting film on my camera and then developing it in my room was always a highlight for me.
I also had a sense of adventure combined with a hint of mischief. This led me to a comprehensive military career that lasted for twenty-three years. When I left the armed forces in 2012, I became a security consultant.
My allure to adventure became stronger than ever due to the new-found freedom of being a civilian. This fusion led me to focus on my passion for art, in particular taking pictures.
Where ever I go I always have my a digital camera with me. Initially I shot everything and made short movies, trying all the presets in Lightroom and Photoshop. Over time I developed my own style and worked out that street photography was my preferred niche.
It appeals to me because it is real. No studio, assistants, models or reshoots. I think that the world is very good at making itself look important. We tend to overdramatise the insignificant and undervalue the real. When I see the world and capture it with my camera I try to show her scars, secrets and endless beauty.
My sense of adventure will always be with me, right next to my camera.
