TITLE: Clown
They have these large, artificial, painted-on expressions, which don’t actually represent their feeling.
I've always been intrigued by clowns. Their image, as funny as it is burlesque, coarse in sadness and joy, blends here in a harmonious black and white.
These photos are calm because of their aesthetics, even if the image represents a completely different thing. It is therefore the contradiction that drives this serie.
Passive beauty blends with the rhythm of the formal, the chance of laughter with a solemn preparation. The image in the show. (the photographs are all analog)
