TITLE: Jakob & Rosine
1908, Mainhardt/South Germany:
Deep in the Rot-valley, the married couple Jakob and Rosine Trinkle worked hard in their mill, called the HANKERTSMUEHLE. There was not enough income for a family with 13 children. On december 28th, the millers wife died by accident in the driving-belts of the mill. Four years later, 1912, Jakob Trinkle emigrates with his children to America. The HANKERTSMILL becomes dismantled. Only the archway was left over.
The pictures tells the story of Jakob and Rosine in their Mill. After the funeral of Rosine, Jakob says "goodbye" to the place he lived so many years. In a "daydream" he has a vision : Rosine appears in the ruins as an angel. But his suitcase was packed, he has to leave........ America, the new world was waiting for him. -Based on a true story-
