The Awakening


I have always wondered how society evolves through social networks by trying to find a way to confront a time of day when you are disconnected, when your personality is not influenced by technology and the way others see it.

A time of day when you can discover a person as they really are, without artifice, by simple gestures.

On this basis I wanted to interfere in this personal space, in this time span, out of time, in order to highlight the morning gestures and customs of different people.

These gestures that we don't necessarily notice. Which we don't pay attention to.

Thus, many people have been the subject of short photographic reports highlighting these precious little moments that differ and resemble each other as they pass from one morning to the next.

Some do not attach any importance to it, dress and run to work, others give a real moment to breakfast, indulge in an early morning sports ritual to start the day.

I have chosen to keep a very observant eye on the action and what happens during these moments to show life, time, and reality as opposed to the generalization of the appalling photographic speech that has taken hold on social networks.

With this project, I attach more importance to spontaneity and chance when a photo brings something aesthetic but also in the story. They then have a more interesting impact than social networks are flooded with.

Né à Nice, a débuté dans la musique en étudiant le piano durant 10 ans.

Après une longue période dans la musique et la composition, il se dirigera dans des études secondaires d'audiovisuel.
Ce qui le rapprochera de l'image et notamment de la photographie.
Dans la volonté de trouver l'équilibre entre l'esthétique et l'information, Antoine pense à des séries mettant en avant le reportage photographique.

En 2015, il crée alors son premier projet " Le Réveil " qui donnera lieu à un premier ouvrage " Le Réveil ", édité aux Editions GILLETTA.
En 2016, s'en suivra sa première exposition en 2016 sur le Réveil pour le Festival des " Visiteurs du Soir " à la Galerie Soardi à Nice.
Il continue à réaliser ce travail du Réveil tout au long de l'année.

L'été suivant, désirant créer un nouveau projet, il puisa son inspiration dans une balade en bord de mer à Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat avec une amie.
Il utilisera pour la première fois un appareil Argentique et crée sans le savoir, la première série du projet " La Côte ".
Réalisant la magnifique place où il résidait, il décida de mettre en avant les lieux tous autant singuliers qu'extraordinaires de la Côte qu'il arpentera avec de nombreux habitués.
Sa deuxième exposition s'intéresse aujourd'hui à son deuxième projet " La Côte " retraçant les séries de ses rencontres de l'été 2017.

Elle se déroulera à partir du 19 Juillet 2018 chez Jourdan-Gassin 17 Rue Alexandre Mari sur la Place du Palais de Justice à Nice jusqu'à la fin de l'Eté.
