TITLE: VANISHING FLAT IRON BUILDING
New York in a storm that not many people will ever be able to witness during their lifetime. A completely paralyzed New York, gave me an opportunity to capture the flat iron building in a rare moment.
I wanted a very dark dramatic image, that draws the viewer to the building. The light in the apartment brings a small but powerful contrast to the snow falling. The person on the button right of the frame gives the perfect perspective to this image, without taking the attention from the main subject.
New York, the city that never sleeps hit by an unforgettable storm.
AUTHOR: Levi Mendes (Luxembourg)
Welcome to my world of black and white fine art photography. I'm a fine art photographer living in the unique and small country of Luxembourg and specialize in black and white photography. I hope being able to transmit you through my photography the vision I have when I visit different places in this amazing world that we all live in but oftentimes forget to contemplate. My choice for black and white photography came very early and is certainly most influenced by photographers that I admire and follow. Photographers as Laurent Baheux, Nick Brandt, Michael Kenna, Sebastiao Salgado remind me every day that the world of photography is unlimited.
All my images are processed in Lightroom. Photoshop is rarely used for the simple reason that I want to keep away from cloning and retouching the images in a way that doesn't correspond to reality. Hope to see you on my different social media profiles and maybe on my next trip. "Don't wait for happiness; Grab it." Greetings from Luxembourg
