TITLE: Seven
I went to Antarctica in January of 2018, fulfilling a longtime dream. For many travelers, it's the chance to say they've been to all seven continents, and it's appropriately the most remote, most difficult to get to, and probably most rewarding destination. But what fascinated me were the traces left by the humans who've attempted to conquer it, many unsuccessfully, in the middle of vast spaces where few other people have ever seen what you are seeing.
AUTHOR: Kathleen Gulley (United States)
My love of photography began when I was a child, but I only began to pursue it seriously several years ago when a serious illness left me confined to my bedroom for a few months. Seeing out became an obsession, and once I was able to get out again, I realized how much of my life I had spent with my head in the clouds paying little attention to anything that was actually around me. Photography became my way of looking at and processing the world around me. I travel as much as I can now, to locations exotic and mundane, to see and record everything I can.
