TITLE: White-Out Over Split Mountain
This was taken along Going-to-the-Sun Road on a particularly foggy drive through Glacier National Park in Montana. This photo was not retouched at all. I believe that what you shoot is what you get. I had two shots at this and liked how the framing came out in this one. Initially I was looking for a way to shoot around the tree but then thought it would look interesting if it appeared in silhouette as if it was holding up the mountain. I was praying that I got the perfect exposure for the peak. The fog was also moving in and out, and I had to wait for it to clear at just the right moment. 30 seconds later it was completely fogged out. Sometimes timing is everything, and I was lucky to have the opportunity to capture this while I had a beautiful roll of B&W in my camera.
