TITLE: At the Precipice
There is something about standing at the Precipice of Dettifos in Iceland, that without any railings and barricades, truly connects you with the raw power of the falls. Reported to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe, the deafening roar of falling water and gentle spray of mist on your face further draws you in. The woman in the foreground provides great perspective of the experience
AUTHOR: Richard Vandegriend (Canada)
Richard Vandegriend is a self-taught Vancouver based photographer whose passion is landscape and fine-art photography. Believing that composition and timing are critical to a great image, compositional elements are not altered in post-processing. Instead care and patience are exercised to ensure the image was captured perfectly in camera. As landscape photography is so dependent on lighting and weather conditions, more often than not, great images are discovered rather than planned. One must give themselves the time and opportunity to discover these images.
