TITLE: Portrait of a Rehabilitated Golden Eagle
I photographed this image using the wet plate collodion process with a lens that dates to 1859. The rehabilitated golden eagle remained perfectly motionless for the six seconds required to expose the glass plate. My intention was to portray the grandeur and gravitas inherent in these birds of prey using the fundamentally flawed process of wet plate.
