Conceptual fine art dreamscape exploring ideas of the real and surreal, time and truth, and how these concepts interact to form our own reality or conspiracy.
AUTHOR: Mandarine Montgomery (Australia)
Mandarine Montgomery is a Melbourne based international photographer who's career highlights include over 30 awards both in Australia and overseas. She was hand picked to represent Australia in the recent (2016) World Photographic Cup (finalist), as well as being the Grand Award Winner of the International Loupe Awards, and the AIPP Canon Australia Portrait Photographer of the year.
She is a triple Master of photography with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) and has travelled extensively on her photographic journey, exploring genres including commercial, architectural, fashion, portraiture and editorial. Her passion though lies in surreal imagery, where a career highlight was raising $16,000 for Make-A-Wish Australia from the auction of one of her fine art conceptual portraits.
With an eye for the unusual, and a highly creative mind, her surreal portraits are a labour of love that she spends hundreds of hours on. She creates images that invite reflection by exploring the subconscious elements of her subjects, leaving subtle trails and hints to follow. This leaves room for the viewer's own interpretation-a potent combination that requires superior craftsmanship, skill and creative vision.
She has exhibited her work both in Australia and overseas and has collectors and clients world wide. She is also a regular judge at the AIPP(Australia) and WPPI Professional Photography Awards (USA). She has contributed to a number of photography books and magazines, both online and in print.
