TITLE: Spine
Although the number of deaths and injuries in road traffic accidents presents a progressive decrease in recent years, they are still the most frequent cause of spinal cord injuries in the world.

Documentary photographer currently based in Madrid. Susana has also lived in the UK, Germany and France. She has a multidisciplinary background in Physics, Translation and Fine arts.
Her personal work focuses on travel, memory and the exploration of human emotions. With her images, she aims at provoking discussion and reflection. Her projects also talk about the relationship between people and their environment and the merging of traditions and modernity.
In 2012, she self-published her first dummy el Hombrecino, which has been exhibited in ARCOmadrid International Contemporary Art Fair (2013) and Libros Mutantes Book Fair, Casa Encendida Madrid (2013).
In 2017, she has been selected to participate in Descubrimientos PhotoEspaña and she received an Honourable Mention at the IPA Photography Awards, Climate Change 2016. In 2015, she was finalist of the LensCulture Street Awards with her work on Ethiopia and recipient of the Albarracin Seminar Award with "el Hombrecino". In 2013 she was a finalist at the International Photographic Contest Alliance Française-Fundación Pilar Citoler.
Her images have also been exhibited in places like PhotoEspaña, the Alliance Française, Voies Off Arles and published in media like El País -El Viajero and international online media.
At present she divides her time between long-term documentary projects and undertaking commercial and editorial work.
