TITLE: Present State of Being
This series of pictures were taken in Beijing, Argentina and New York. In my travels, I always get attracted and gravitated towards the diverse and unique lights of different lands, as well as the interaction of such lights with the complex sense of the smell risen from these soils. When the over complicated human architecture occupies such space among these lights and senses, the shows seems to project our inner most confusion and unsettlements of our state of being. Just like the crossings of the shadows of our architectural creation is attempting to converge to a direction, we, the modern men, attempts at our future direction, often with ever more complex equations and logic. We however, are shadowed within our own complexity and how we approach our problems.
AUTHOR: Xiaolong Li (China)
I have the fortune to feel and experience the much of the world around me through my eyes. Although I was trained as an engineer and economist, I express ideas most adequately not through equations and logic but through light and shadows, symbols and abstractions. Traveling enables man to see things in a higher order of dimension. When the physical being move through space and time, things beyond the human experience is set in motion and spins off to a region of liberating doubt. This is when the human soul starts to disassociate from the materialism being to the idealism will; this is when the inherent consciousness strays away from the gravity of our own masses, to the discoveries of the contradicting lightness of its being.
