TITLE: Horse market in Staryszew
Every year there is a horse market in Staryszew and it's the biggest and oldest one in Europe. But it is not a prestigious auction like Janow Podlaski. The horses here are transported and kept in inhumane conditions, crammed together without water and they end up in the abattoir. The market runs alongside the folk festival. Along the main street there are stalls with food, drinks, horse riding equipment and tacky souvenirs. Through the smell of alcohol and the sounds of Disco Polo, the horses are bitten and dragged along by the sellers.
