My name is Ricardo Arriola, I am a photographer and cinema student specializing in cinematography at the Film Training Center (Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica) in its capital Mexico City, Mexico. Like most children, I also went to school. I think I have been well educated. I am twenty three years old. I was born in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, in 1993. At sixteen my father gave me a Pentax K1000 35mm which I started taking photographs of everyday and urban subjects in color.
My favorites photographers are, and my work owes a lot; David Hamilton, Sam Haskins, Nacho López, Hector García, Lee Miller, Helmut Newton, Jeanloup Sieff, Ruth Bernhard, Ansel Adams and Man Ray. Obviously I have a lot of books about them.
I am not a digital photographer, also I am an Fine Art Printer. I use a Leica M3, a Sekonix Studio Deluxe ligthmeter, Hasselblad, Rolleicord and Kodak film. At the time I am trying to always use F 2.8 (like the pros).
