TITLE: The Conversation

The model in the series is Erica Jay. Erica and I have worked together several times over a two-year period. With Erica as the model, typically, I go into a shoot with no particular theme in mind. For the shoot represented in our series here we had the good fortune to find a dresser at the location. Now we had our setting and theme. Erica would interact with the dresser in a series of poses. Instead of a shoot that would have featured the model alone, we were able to produce a series of images where the nude model is one part of the whole composition. While it’s a large series, I selected those images where Erica’s identity is hidden. By doing so I hoped to emphasize form over emotion.

AUTHOR: Steve Lease (United States)

Steve Lease is a Doylestown, Pennsylvania amateur digital photographer. Although he is self-taught, he views the study of photography as a never-ending process and attends workshops on a regular basis. Much of his work is inspired by visits to the leading art museums in New York City and Philadelphia.
