TITLE: Sand blows of Fraser Island
There are 36 Sandblows on Fraser Island. They are like a liquid wave of sand that moves across the island blown by the Southeasterly wind. Moving approximately 1 meter per year, they bury the forests that lie in their path. Some of them have walking tracks for access and others like this one are a difficult trek through thick bushland. When I found this sandblow,one the dune was about to engulf the skeleton of the old forest before it. I was lucky to capture this as I went back a few months later and the tree was gone.
