Étienne Racine was born in 1971 in Montreal and lived there ten years. He spent most of his life in Paris. Ethnologist, he published an essay on the French rave scene in 2002, then worked as a marketing researcher and a journalist for large companies. Former DJ and tagger, he’s bond of urban atmospheres, the street, the celebrations, the night and eroticism, to which he added meditation and Buddhism when turning his 40’.

Enthusiastic, Étienne Racine photographs to improve his own understanding and to share. Keen handheld photographer, he gives priority to the truth of the moment over the quest for « pixel perfect » pictures.

His photos can carry several meanings, but before all they must be autonomous : directly aesthetic and signifying. Either regenerative as a massage or impactful as a graffiti.
