TITLE: Chin Stripes
An elderly Chin woman in remote Rakhine State, Burma, is one of the last of her kind. The facial tattoo she bares identifies her tribal group, and is also a source of pride and adornment. The practice, originally a form of branding to prevent kidnapping, was outlawed in the 1960's.
