TITLE: Trees in the Valley
Tree in field framed by tree in foreground
AUTHOR: Graham Bush (United States)
Recently retired I am returning to my first passion of photography. I was 12 years old when my father gave me a Kodak box camera. I later acquired my first 35mm camera, a Zeiss Ikon Contaflex, while in High School. While serving in the military I was able to purchase a Canon ftb. I studied photography in college and later worked as a photographer's assistant in a large commercial studio. I honed my black and white printing skills as a commercial lab technician.
Now retired from broadcasting I shoot mainly landscape and fine art. Influences include Ansel Adams, Paul Strand, Ernst Haas, Elliot Porter and Ralph Gibson. I now shoot entirely in digital. I strive to present images in a minimalist view. It is the quality of light that first attracts me to an image. My hope is that the viewer can experience the same emotions that I do when I first view a scene.
