TITLE: Bus passing Waterloo Bridge
This photo, for me, is like the essence of London: the bridges, the buses and the remarkable architecture, just partly visible in the fog.
AUTHOR: Jens Winkler (Germany)
Born in East Germany, I became fascinated by the art of photography very early in my life. Before turning 18 years old, I already had my own camera and laboratory, enabling me to control the whole process of creating photographs. For many years I worked with a large format film camera, concentrating mainly on color landscape photography.
Later, I became more interested in fine art black & white photography, as in my view this is much more versatile and creates more unique images, that stand out from the mass of photos that we are bombarded with in everyday life. I still like landscapes a lot, but have also worked on architecture images more and more.
I now use a medium format digital camera for shooting my photos and I own a big printer, so that I am still able to control all steps of creation myself, up to the final printed result.
Despite my huge interest in photography, I have never made this a profession. I enjoy being completely free in what I do in my photographic projects. I have been living in the outskirts of Munich for many years, and I enjoy shooting in the surroundings here and wherever I travel.
