TITLE: Double Exposures
First, Teemu Verpaalu looks for expressive, authentic faces. Then he finds the right overlay for each one to accentuate its characteristic features. If he is lucky, a photo from Verpaalu's collection will fit, but usually he first has to find it with his camera.
Then he matches the face and overlay motif on the screen until they merge into a double exposure.
AUTHOR: Andreas Eggler (Switzerland)
Andreas Eggler, alias Teemu Verpaalu, has been sketching and drawing pictures from everyday life since his earliest childhood and discovered photography in his youth. It soon revealed its artistic and expressive side to him. He is particularly fascinated by the seemingly hidden, the conspicuous in the inconspicuous. With his camera, he takes his cue from painting which means that he carefully constructs and arranges his photos. He draws his inspiration from the most diverse areas of life, which he explores in each case until a theme is comprehensively treated. In his current series of works, he focuses on animal and nature photography, abstract water reflections, street and people photography as well as silhouettes and double exposures.
