AUTHOR: Marc Langevin (Canada)
Biography
Holding two college diplomas, one technical in photography and the other pre-university in visual arts, Marc Langevin obtained his interdisciplinary bachelor's degree in arts in 1995 at the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi. First an intern in exhibition design at the Musée du Saguenay (Québec, Canada) then, later, in graphic art at Original Version (Avignon, France), he became a art theacher at the Cégep de Chicoutimi and exercises this replacement job since 1991 and full time since 2007 to date.
He has participated in six group photographic exhibitions since 1994 and he exhibited solo for the first time in 2012. His photographic works border on figurative and dreamlike representations and often feature models in the simplest camera or dressed -e-s of ornaments which add a certain meaning to his creations. Very evocative natural and artificial frames contribute greatly to the rendering of his compositions and form an essential part of his work, as much as the technical and artistic processes he applies to his photographs. In 2012, the prestigious Collection Loto-Québec acquired, for the first time, photographic works by Marc Langevin.
