TITLE: The last look
This could be an elephant's last look before being shot by a poacher's rifle. These beings fill every corner of the savannah with terror, follow orders from organized mafias and know exactly what they are looking for: ivory.
If we don't act soon, over time, those bodies that once made beautiful elephants will soon turn to dust.
AUTHOR: Pedro Abel Adalia Díaz (Spain)
Photography is, for me, the best way to express myself. What I am passionate about about her is that gift that makes us able to capture “forever” a moment that, however, is fleeting. My name is Pedro Abel Adalia, I am a wildlife and nature photographer, short story writer and editor at AEFONA (Spanish Association of Nature Photographers). From a very young age I have felt a man-animal connection that has led me to portray each of these encounters in such a way that every viewer wishes they had their own.
My passion for animals and nature cannot be understood without talking about the place that, as a child and as a grown up, has captivated me with its smells, looks and colors: Africa. The magical continent leads me to see it as a paradise where to be in contact with nature to return as before. I have made different trips in search of unique scenes, whether they are the wildest or, on the contrary, the most urban: Kenya, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium or Denmark are some of the destinations that have passed through my objective.
Shooting my camera is always accompanied by a set of emotions, sometimes happiness, other impotence, but always of great intensity. I live thinking that photography, one day, will make us find the connection that we never stop having with nature but that we strive to destroy; it is the only way we have to maintain the balance of which we are all a part and to ensure that future generations can enjoy our wild legacy.
