TITLE: The Avenue

The combination of the fog and the tall trees create this atmospheric image. The people are walking along an avenue of trees towards a vertical beacon of light which is reminiscent of many scenes that depict an alternative universe. This tree lined avenue stretches for around half a mile and is the entrance to a former stately home in the UK. The trees are a prominent feature of the surrounding countryside. For the picture, I had two cameras with me. I took many pictures with my large camera. As I was walking back with the family, I saw this scene develop and I had to reach for my iPhone to capture the picture. Processing was a simple conversion to black and white with little post editing. Picture taken at Umberslade Park, Tanworth-in-Arden, West Midlands, UK in January 2021 during our third and longest Lockdown. This place is very close to home and so allowed us to undertake exercise walks.
