TITLE: Wakhan Corridor

Entering Afghanistan catapults into another dimension: you enter a sphere where time and people do not belong to anything known. All that remains is to follow and try to get in touch with a story far from ours, but which in some way also talks about us. All in a very difficult environment, in some aspects hostile, but which repays the need to adapt.The Wakhan corridor and the Pamir mountains allow you to meet peoples (the Wakhi and the Kirgizy), who have been "trapped" in these areas since the time of Marco Polo. You enter an environment of great light, but full of as many shadows, but with an indisputable charm.

I was born in Turin in 1965, I have been photographing since I was 8, when I got my first camera as a gift from my father. Since then, I never stopped looking at the world from behind the camera’s lens. My interest for the world and the environment grew day by day, together with my passion for travelling.
Animals have been a part of my life, as a job and as a passion, for more than 30 years so photographing them was a natural process. Later, my love for travelling made me discover the documentary photography and reportage. I photograph in order to tell stories, for an emotional and aesthetic research. The perpetual research of light, colour, of the right moment but mostly of the interaction with the people I meet gives me a great push towards sharing and also helps me understand the human nature: for me this is an indispensable activity.
I got many gratifications from publications on magazines like Oasis, Photo Professional and National Geographic Italia and also from participating and having good results in National and International Competitions (such as Oasis Photo Contest, National Geographic, Travel Photography of the Year, IPA).
I presented my works in exhibitions in Turin, Piobesi Torinese, Tortona, Reggio Emilia, and also at the prestigious Festival della Fotografia Etica in Lodi.
Sometimes I exhibit my work in skit nights in cultural and photography clubs < BACK TO GALLERY
