TITLE: "Visual Poetry"

Besides photographer I'm also a poet. Sometimes they reinforce each other. About my minimalistic photographic series of Dutch scenery I wrote a minimalist poem on the underlying idea of what fine art photography means to me:

Fine art photography

Interpretation
of a
moment
that never
existed
before it
disappeared

In this series I've searched for small objects along the coast. No far horizons with famous locations like the Zeeland Bridge, Delta Works or iconic lighthouses, but bollards, breakwaters, poles, groynes, jetty's, wrecks close to the shorelines just in their loneliness and simplicity. This series is also an escape from reality. Last year was tough in several ways and at times I felt the need to escape the harshness and create my own world. A personal poetic journey.
