Dancing Light and Cloud
I took this picture during my holiday in Switzerland in December 2019. I visited the Matterhorn more than 20 years ago, and since then I have always wanted to come back to take a beautiful image of the Matterhorn. This is one of the most memorable photography moments - standing still and alone for more than an hour, above the clouds, at freezing temperature, peacefully and quietly watching the clouds and light dancing around the Matterhorn at sunset. After 15 minutes of magic, the light went away and sadly, no vision of the Matterhorn in the following 3 days due to heavy snowstorms. I took this image using my telephoto lens in order to get a very detailed image of the mountain. In order to get a wide view of the mountain, light, and clouds, I took multiple images and merge them in post-processing. The picture is rendered in black and white to emphasize the drama of the lights and clouds.

I love photography that shows a different point of view from what we see in daily lives. I am always impressed by how beautiful black and white pictures can emphasize a certain aspect of the composition, lighting, and feeling. I also love macro photography for its vibrant color and beautiful details of tiny objects that we normally cannot see with our eyes.
