While running to a black and white developing and printing class in Lower Manhattan, I saw a strange glow across the road as I squeezed between two parked cars. As I stepped out onto the road, this scene opened up before me. The unearthly light emanating from the solderer's torch was mesmerizing, but I quickly opened my camera case and somehow managed to grab the shot.
