TITLE: franco-turcs
I led a project on the "second generation of immigrants", French of Turkish origin or Franco-Turkish. I initiated this project at the beginning of October 2015.
Through my experience, I have observed that despite their dual French and Turkish identity, their culture, their religion and their families influence them and make them slip more towards Turkish than French. I am very interested in their lives.
I took pictures of these Turkish people, and over the course of my work I felt an echo at home, compared to my feeling of stranger but I have views different from theirs. The fact of living and living a moment among them, of establishing intimacy and proximity, allowed me to enter their lives.
Therefore, I tried to integrate into their culture in order to be accepted into their families. I lived with different families for a few days, imitating them, respecting their lifestyles, I understood them better and my photos were like a mirror on their emotions and my most sincere approach gave me confidence and the Situations captured in my photos were a more faithful reflection of their lives than if they had been taken by a mere ephemeral spectator. In fact I am still continuing my research to produce a work done on them.
