TITLE: INDELIBLE MARKS
Hundreds of disappeared people are waiting to be recognized or identified by the different departments of the Colombian state (Public Prosecutor's Office), that's why some parts of their corpses have been conserved, specially those ones with marks like tattoos, marked bones or some kind of prothesis, including also some belonging like chains, rings, glasses, watches, shoes, etc.
In Colombia there are more than 130.000 disappeared people due to the war and the violence. Many corpses that are not identified are given to the universities of legal medicine with the aim to be studied while they are waiting for some relative to identify them.
Thousands of students learn through this little pieces or fragments of skin, bones, teeth and digital marks. For the first time in the history of Colombia, the country has a president who won the Nobel Peace Prize (2016) and it was because of the peace agreement signed with the most ancient guerilla group in the world: FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia)
