TITLE: Honest Kids

This portrait was made in the playground of Precious Lambs preschool. My photo class was given the opportunity to photograph the children using whatever medium, style, and mood we wanted to convey their stories. I chose to document the kids with 35mm film. The kids in this school are children of struggling families in Long Beach, California. The Precious Lambs teachers not only provide care for the child, but support and community for the parents, who may be seeking shelter from abuse or getting by on one income.

The children, of course, only see that someone is watching out for them, which sometimes includes only mildly sugary juice boxes.
